Travertine Lighting

Travertine is a banded natural stone, cut thin enough to let light through. Behind a bulb it turns a warm, honey colour with the grain showing like weather in the sky. Every piece is quarried, so no two match. These are the fixtures we'd choose to make a room feel calm.

Travertine's banding runs in one direction, so the fixture changes depending on where you stand — worth thinking about with a wall sconce, less so with a pendant you only ever see from below. It suits rooms you want to feel settled rather than bright: a bedroom, a hallway, a dining table. Keep the bulb warm and the output modest, and let the stone do the rest.
