Pick the right size for your room

Flush ceiling light sized 2 to 3 inches of height per foot of ceiling, with 7 feet of clearance below 2–3 in per ft of ceiling 7 ft min 213 cm
  • Fixture height: 2–3 in (5–7.5 cm) per foot (30 cm) of ceiling.
  • Where people walk under it, keep at least 7 ft (213 cm) between the floor and the bottom of the fixture.

Room coverage: add the room's length and width in feet; that number in inches is your fixture width. A 10 × 12 ft room (3 × 3.7 m) suits a fixture about 22 in (56 cm) across.
